Reichstag Election, 1932

Students held a simulated election of the Reichstag election in 1932. The "concerned voters" completed their worksheets by listening to the different parties presentations.

Reichstag Election, 1932

Today student began preparing for a simulation of the German Reichstag elections of 1932. Students represented either a political party (Communists, Center Party, Nazis, or Social Democrats) or "concern voters". The simulation will take place on Thursday.

Weimar Republic

Students reviewed an article about the Weimar Republic. They discussed the difficult economic conditions that allowed extreme political parties to gain power. Students also added vocabulary to their lists (Nationalism, Isolationism, Totalitarianism, NSDAP, Mein Kampf, Coup d'etat).

Paris Peace Conference II

Students worked in their groups representing the Big Four. Students worked on redrawing the borders of Europe and the Middle East after WWI. The groups negotiated with one another about their group's goals and desires.

Paris Peace Conference

Today students added vocabulary to their logbooks (Reparations, Chemical Warfare, Trench Warfare, 11/11/18 Armistice, Treaty of Versailles, Colonies/Colonial Empire, Fourteen Points, League of Nations). Students also began preparing for a simulation of the Paris Peace Conference. Each student is in the role of a delegate from one of the "Big Four" countries that made the Treaty of Versailles - Italy, United States, France, and Great Britain.

The Fourteen Points

Students began rewriting Woodrow Wilson's post-WWI Fourteen Points into their own words. The Fourteen points were proposed as a way of keeping peace and preventing future conflicts.

Paris Peace Conference

Students finished analyzing and discussing the documents from World War I. Student then began reading about the decision facing the victors of the war as they began writing the Treaty of Versailles during the Paris Peace conference of 1919.
