Vietnam: Daughter from Danang

Agenda 5/30-6/30:

Students began watching the film Daughter from Danang. They took notes comparing and contrasting American and Vietnamese culture. At the end they wrote a series of letters from the perspectives of the people featured in the film and one from their perspective to the people in the film.

HOMEWORK:

Tank Man

Agenda 5/21:
  1. Students compared and contrasted Google and Google China search results.

Tiananmen Square 1989

Today students began studying the student protests in Tiananmen Square, Beijing in 1989. Students started by comparing and contrasting two paintings of Tianamen. After, they began watching a documentary about the event, The Tank Man [below]. They took notes with this worksheet while they watched.
